The past five years have ushered in many LGD news headlines, several of which speak to global economics and consumer acceptance and demand. Yet, 2023 may be historically documented as “The Year of Lab- Grown Diamonds” due to the continued interest and introductions of LGDs fromworld-renowned luxury design houses. Specifically, under the LVMH brand umbrella, Tiffany and Co. has begun showing watches and jewelry featuring LGDs. LVMH’s FRED has debuted an 8.8 carat VS1, GIA-graded lab- grown blue diamond, and half-carat options within their “Force 10” fine jewelry collection. LVHM’s TAG Heuer also continues to promote their Diamant d’Avant-Garde watch line with LGDs. The Italian luxe fashion brand, Prada launched their first fine jewelry collection last October, but it was October of this year that they added LGDs into the mix. Breitling is committed to only working in LGDs by 2025 and has been marketing their Origins watch collection touting diamond traceability with added emphasis this year. The bridal and fashion markets continue to introduce starter LGD brands, yet the embrace of major design houses provides a significant nod of approval while expanding LGDs acceptance and worldwide reach. Dan Scott offers updates to these major advancements in our exclusive “Carbon” series while shining a spotlight on an important podcast scheduled to multi-stream on LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook. Entitled, The Diamond Dilemma, Scott will produce and moderate the live stream while Rob Bates, JCK news director and novelist will host.
