In this closing series of LGDs and fine jewelry, we’ll prove this to be the case on many fronts and see how LGDs are aligned with luxury just as rubber strap[s are to fine sports watches and faux fur is to the most elite designer houses includ- ing Chanel. Not to be outshined by their competition, Bergdorf Goodman, a latecomer to the LGD fine jewelry market, jumped in with their own LGD fashion line with necklaces carrying a median retail price of $78,000 and starter self-professed luxe labels like Lark and Berry offering Bergdorf Goodman exclu- sives such as their Veto Raindrop earrings in LGDs retailing for over $8,000.00. In part one of this series, we showcased Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus strong stance on lab and luxury. In this issue, we’ll see that while Bergdorf may be a late comer to the LGD luxe party, their own house label LGD necklace is re- tailing for over $80,000, an item they can’t seem to keep in stock, reflected by a continued push by Neiman Marcus with a LGD similar necklace at about the same price, and also extremely popular. LDG FINE TIME While we addressed Breitling and TAG Heuer set- ting their bezels in the LGDs, luxury watch brands Raymond Weil and Oris have also stepped in the LGD design mindset.
