What was once an eco-centric choice is today the confirmed selection for those seeking bigger, more beautiful stones without the premium price. And, the ability to grow their own stone on the calendar day of a key date, like a couple’s wedding day are enticing. By Q4 2026, LGDs will capture upward of 70.1% of engagement ring sales from the mass market. Beyond Gucci, TAG Heuer, and FRED, luxe brands like Homer, Jean Dousset, Draco Diamond, Elora Lab, Octa Pearl, Queen Smith, Cove, Vrai, and With Clarity are defending LGD designer luxury. This while designers in NYC’s Diamond District are selling LGD designs at $50,000 and above without apologies and daily. Just ask Mike Necca or Mike the “Diamond King.” Creditable sources are whispering bespoke brands like Graff tasked with extremely challenging deadlines must match large and speciality cut/shaped fancies for earrings (as the source defined). In some cases, they privately work with the likes of Chatham and their own secret growth lab to satisfy perfection in fancy vivids. Of course they disclose this uncommon option but those conversations are anything but public. Read Part 2 of Dan Scott’s celebration of LGDs in 2026 and be sure to find us on Facebook and Instagram where you can hear the world’s first LGD pop song, composed by Dan Scott as well. Ze v
