The 4-step US patented process of extracting carbon from clouds to create LGDs. An illustrated look a four-step carbon extraction process from clouds, a U.S. patented LGD technology conceived and currently operating under New York City’s Aether Diamonds. Luxe Licensing compiled a linear look (shown) by leveraging Aether Diamond’s (AD) proprietary illustrations in chronological sequence. While London-based Sky Diamond seems to replicate a form of this technology, they followed AD’s pioneering and streamlined carbon cloud extraction innovation. ©2024-2025 Aether Diamonds All Rights Reserved. 3 2 1 4 Aether is the first fine jewelry brand with diamonds made from 100% captured carbon. A four-step th rmochemical process is used to capture CO2, which is then purified and pumped nto high-pressure cylinders for st rag and fo mulated i a plasma machine to create LGD growth. The Cons The technology to extract carbon from the air is relatively new and known to be costly. “It is simply too damn expensive to suck one metric ton of CO2 out of the air on a price per ton basis,” said the disbanded Helena group founder and former CEO, Henry Elkus. “It is not a profitable endeavor right now. And in order for direct air carbon culture to get to economies of scale, it has to get that price point down.” Gucci & Sky Diamond Still, the market for carbon capture diamonds is emerging. London’s Sky Diamond (often claiming to be the first at this process) is the second group to offer a variation to Aether’s carbon cloud extraction. They recently parted with Vault Gucci and have produced a co-branded LGD fashion line being tested in Europe presently. The fact that the house of Gucci selected Sky Diamond is a statement within itself. We know Prada, Fred and various watch brands have embraced LGDs, but Gucci is the first to align with a grower who can prove their method is not only the less destructive to Mother Earth. As this process is potentially licensed, modified and reinvented and as matures costs will be reduced and consumer awareness and acceptance (perhaps even demand)_should drift over the entire marketplace but scale of production and lowered cost must be addressed. The most streamlined means of production today aligned with the highest cost savings remains on CVD’s side. ◊
