It features the triumphs and turbulations of growing gemstones through the eyes and actions of Carroll Chatham, and his son Tom, written by Dan Scott. While Carroll Chatham is no longer with us, Tom takes us back to the consistent curiosity and cunning creations of his late father with an important takeaway. The interview you’ll read is a precursor to the soon-to- be-released hardbound book, The Chatham Legacy , an American success story built on positive perseverance. Giving up is always easy. Giving it “your best shot” is a lot harder. The ability to constantly revisit the same issue, time and time again, while constantly challenged by budgets, situations and nay-sayers remains the hardest yet is the most satisfying of accomplishments. It’s also a way to succeed by offering something no one else presently can. In the world of lab-grown diamonds, it’s a lot simpler to “follow the herd,” or be satisfied with the status quo. Many find themselves challenged to beat their competitor price verses superseding their competition with unique growth qualities, introducing new methodologies and procedures, thus outshining the masses. These leaders may charge a higher amount since they are delivering a higher quality product. The determination to win against many odds also carries its own price. The dedication to raise the bar while others are playing limbo is personally and professionally difficult. We salute companies that may claim a true point of difference - a form of separation elevating their company and product to new heights, while bettering the industry at large. As the LGD sector expands, we believe the power to persevere is paramount. Introducing heightened aspects will result in a finer, and more refined diamond community. A community that unites with natural diamonds and ultimately gains a consistent position within fine jewelry worldwide.
